Privacy policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This policy explains what Habit Quest collects, why, and the choices you have. Habit Quest is made by Laliora Gaming in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia ("we"). Questions: support@laliora.com.

In short

We collect only what the game needs to work, to improve, and to show ads.
We don't ask for your real name, email, phone number, contacts, location or photos.
We don't sell your data.
You can delete your data at any time.

What we collect

A random player ID created by the app when you first open it. It isn't your phone's hardware ID and isn't linked to your name or phone number.
Your habits, check-ins and notes, only if you turn on cloud backup or move to a new phone, so you can restore them. Without backup they stay on your phone.
A nickname, only if you choose one to join leaderboards or an accountability group. It's checked by a word filter, and other players can report it.
Leaderboard scores, only if you join leaderboards: this week's check-in count, your best streak and your total XP.
Accountability groups you create or join, with the group name and each member's weekly check-in count.
Anonymous counts added to community goals, such as the total number of check-ins by all players.
Invite codes you share or use, including one read from the Play Store link that installed the app, and the gifts they give.
Reports you make about another player's name, with where you saw it.
App events with counts only, such as check-ins, habits created and screens opened, to improve the app. They never contain your habit names, notes or contact details.
Crash reports, with the app version, device model and Android version. They're deleted after 30 days.
Your device's advertising ID, collected by Google AdMob to show and measure ads (see Advertising).

We don't collect your contacts, precise location, photos, files, phone number or email address.

CSV and JSON exports are written only where you choose to save them.

How we use it

To run the game: saving progress, online play, leaderboards and the features you use.
To keep the game fair and safe: preventing cheating and acting on reports.
To fix crashes and improve the game, using anonymous gameplay events.
To show ads that keep the game free.

Who can see it

Your habits and notes are never shown to other people. If you join leaderboards, your nickname and scores are visible to other players; in an accountability group, your nickname and weekly check-ins are visible to the group's members.

We share data only with these service providers, which act for us or show ads:

Google AdMob, for ads
Our hosting provider, which runs our servers

We don't sell or rent your data. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

Advertising

The game shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect your device's advertising ID, an approximate location based on your IP address, and information about the ads you see, to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it, the game asks for your consent first, and you can change your choice later in the game's settings. You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your phone's Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).

Read how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's privacy policy.

Notifications

Habit reminders are local notifications set on your phone, at the times you choose and never during your quiet hours. You can turn them off at any time.

Where data is stored and how it's protected

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on servers run by our hosting provider, which may be outside Ethiopia. Access is limited to the people who run the game.

How long we keep it

We keep your game data while you play. Crash reports are deleted after 30 days. If you delete your data, we remove your account and the data linked to it within 30 days. Some anonymous statistics, which can't identify you, may be kept.

Deleting your data

In the game, open Settings → Delete my data, or use the data deletion page. Uninstalling the game removes the data stored on your phone, but not the data on our servers, so please use one of these options too.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it by emailing support@laliora.com. We'll answer within 30 days.

Children

The game is for players aged 13 and over. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll also tell you in the game.
